Requesting space in /data/ana
In order to
- Manage the limited amount of space in /data/ana
- Keep a record of what space is used for
- Make sure the stakeholders are kept in the loop
We established procedures for requesting space in /data/ana:
- Step 0 is, of course, to explain to your working group what you need the space for, and get agreement on how it should be handled. You may get some wise counsel about formats and what you actually need--it may be more or less than you realize.
- Then fill out the Storate Request Form detailing
- What working group is backing this request
- What the nature of the data will be
- How much space you will require
- For how long do you expect to need the data
- Where in the /data/ana directory tree this should be, and with what directory name
- Once we have permission, we will create the directory and set ownership and protections.
We expect you to document it
- Within the directory, put a file, possibly containing a link to a wiki with more details, that describes how the dataset was created.
Given your description, could a different collaborator reproduce your analysis? If not, redo your documentation until it is adequate.
We have a table of existing requests
